Looking for an easy way to cook whole edamame from frozen, try these lightly seasoned air fryer edamame! Simply place frozen edamame pods in the air fryer and cook for 5 minutes. They come out crisp and perfect for snacking!

bowl of air fryer edamame pods.

If you have never had edamame before, you're in for a treat! They are shaped similarly to any bean pod, where there are individual beans inside of a larger outside shell.

Edamame are immature soybeans, which is why they are light green in color. The beans are tender. The outside pod is not meant to be eaten. You can either pop the beans out of the pod with your hands or use your teeth to slide them out, similar to you how you would eat fresh artichokes.

Edamame are low calorie and rich in vitamins in minerals. They are especially rich in folate and are a great vegan protein source!

Using frozen edamame is easy, but not a;; the seasoning will stick to the frozen veggies. If you want your edamame seasonings to stick better, toss them in oil and seasoning half way through the cooking process.

Frozen edamame can be readily found in the freezer section of almost any well stocked grocery store.
