Why You'll Love This Recipe
- Easy: This dip is super easy to make and it only takes a few ingredients. Make it even easier by using canned chicken if you'd like.
- Make Ahead: This dip can be made entirely ahead of time apart from baking in the oven, up to 2 days in advance. Simply pop it into the oven right before you are ready to serve. This makes it a great option for parties.
- Crowd Pleaser: Every time I serve this dip, I get rave reviews.
- Low Carb: The dip itself is super low carb and is great served with veggies as dipping vessels.
Ingredients

- Raw chicken: You can use boneless skinless chicken breasts or tenderloins. For extra ease, use rotisserie chicken or Instant Pot Shredded Chicken Breasts.
- Buffalo Wing Sauce: I used Kinder's Buffalo wing sauce. Frank's Red Hot sauce is also a classic when it comes to buffalo wing sauce. It has some heat to it, but it is not overly spicy.
- Cream cheese: This recipe uses full fat cream cheese but you can use reduced if you prefer.
- Shredded Monterey Jack Cheese: Shredded cheddar cheese can be used as well.
- Ranch Dressing: You can use any ranch brand you like. I used my Homemade Ranch.
Variations and Substitutions
- Greek yogurt can be used in place of cream cheese for a healthier version.
- Ranch seasoning can be used instead of the ranch dressing. Use one packet of dry ranch seasoning.
How to Make Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Dip

Step 1. Add chicken to slow cooker

Step 2. Add remaining ingredients and cover with lid.

Step 3. Cook on high for 3 hours or low for 4-5 hours.

Step 4. Shred chicken, stir and serve.
Recipe Tips
- You can remove the cooked chicken and place it in a stand mixer to shred it for an easy method.
- Make sure the chicken is shredded or chopped on the smaller side. This will make it easier to pick up with your crackers or veggies.
- This dip can be served warm or cold.

How to Serve
Toppings: Thinly sliced green onions add color and freshness to this rich dip. Some people like to add blue cheese crumbles on top and I think that would be a delicious addition.
Serving: Use your favorites chips, crackers, or pretzels for this dip. My favorite way to serve this is actually with bell peppers, but it's great with any veggie stick like carrots, celery, and snap peas.
For something different, fill mini peppers, like these mini cream cheese stuffed peppers, with the finished dip before baking.
