Chicken and feta meatballs have tender ground chicken, salty feta cheese, and lots of fresh herbs. They can be made on the stove top or in the oven and are great for a weeknight dinner or meal prep.

Homemade meatballs are extremely easy to make, and you can totally customize them to your flavor preferences. These greek chicken and feta meatballs are full of flavor from all of the fresh herbs and the creamy feta adds such a nice touch.

You can double or triple this recipe if you’d like, depending on how many servings you would like. These store and reheat very well.

Serve these meatballs alongside lemon butter rice, a tasty greek salad, and some fluffy naan. Don’t forget the homemade tzatziki sauce.

We love meatballs at our house! For some other delicious meatball options, check out mozzarella stuffed meatballs, venison meatballs, French Onion Soup Meatballs and greek meatballs with creamy orzo.

Ground chicken is such an underrated protein source! It’s delicious and extremely versatile. Another one of my favorite recipes using ground chicken is Ground Chicken Spaghetti.

Ingredients

  • Ground chicken: You could use white meat or dark meat. I generally buy already  ground chicken and keep on hand for recipes such as this or my. You can also make your own ground chicken using chicken breast, thigh, or tenderloins and pulsing in the food process.
  • Feta cheese: You can buy already crumbled feta or a black and crumble it yourself.
  • Fresh herbs: A mix of fresh dill and parsley.
  • Breadcrumbs: These help work work a binder for the meatballs and help lighten up the texture.
  • Milk: Milk keeps the meatballs moist. I used whole milk in this recipe.
  • Egg: Eggs also help to hold the meatballs shape.
  • Seasoning: Salt, Pepper, and minced to give the meatballs more flavor.

How to make chicken and feta meatballs

Step 1. To a large mixing bowl, add all ingredients.

Step 2. Using clean hands mix everything together to combine and evenly incorporate all of the ingredients.

Step 3. Form meatballs to your desired size. I suggest using a 2 tablespoon cookie scoop if you have one, to help with forming evenly sized meatballs. Repeat until all of the mixture is used up.

Step 4. To a large deep skillet, add 1 tablespoon of oil. Add chicken meatballs, be careful not to overcrowd the pan. You will most likely have to work in stages.

Cook for 4 to 5 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165°F.

Continue until all chicken meatballs are cooked.

Recipe tip

  • Allow formed meatballs to rest in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before cooking if you have the time. This helps the flavor to develop, but it also makes them stay together better when cooking.
  • If you prefer, you can bake these in the oven at 400 F for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through. Line your baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
