Parmesan Garlic Chicken Thighs are juicy and flavorful using only a few ingredients. This simple chicken thigh recipe is baked in the oven for a quick prep main dish that can be served with a variety of sides.

I’ve said it before and I’ve said it again boneless skinless chicken thighs are probably my most utilized protein. They are so great for beginners and seasoned cooks alike. They’re full of flavor and stay juicy when cooked. They are also cheaper than chicken breasts which makes them an all around win.
By baking these garlic parmesan chicken thighs in the oven, this recipe is largely hands off. Simply create the seasoning and coat the chicken. You can bake the chicken thighs right away or allow to marinate for up to 24 Hours, then place an oven safe dish and bake until cooked through.
The seasoning for this is very simple, garlic, parmesan, paprika, and a little bit of lemon. This versatile chicken seasoning makes it a great accompaniment for lots of different sides!

Ingredients
- Boneless skinless chicken thighs: Boneless skinless chicken thighs stay moist when cooked and have a lot of flavor! You can use this marinate for bone-in skin on chicken as well or even boneless skinless chicken breasts
- Garlic: And lots of it! Mince garlic to allow it to fully permeate through the marinade.
- Parmesan cheese: Use freshly grated parmesan if you can!
- Paprika: Paprika adds color, and a bit of flavor, but it is not spicy at all.
- Lemon: Adding an acid to the marinade helps to tenderize the chicken.
- Butter: Melted butter helps coat the chicken and keep it moist. You can use a neutral oil like avocado oil as well, but I prefer the flavor that butter gives.
How to make
Step 1. Combine melted butter, parmesan (reserving about 1 tablespoon), lemon juice, paprika, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
Step 2. Coat chicken thighs with mixture and make sure each piece of meat is fully covered. Place in the fridge for at least 30 minutes and up to 24 hours.
Step 3. When you’re ready to cook the marinated chicken, preheat the oven to 400°F. Place chicken in an oven safe baking dish and top with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese on each piece of chicken.
Step 4. Bake for 20 minutes until the chicken is cooked through, it should reach 165°F.
Recipe tips
- You can cook the chicken thighs right away after applying the marinade, but I suggest at least 30 minutes. Overnight will give you the best tasting chicken.
- Instead of baked chicken thighs, you could grill, air fry, or pan fry the chicken.
