Making frozen mozzarella sticks in the airfryer is the perfect way to get them extra crispy, with the ooey gooey cheese melted just right. Plus, air fryer frozen mozzarella sticks are done in less than 10 minutes-- so you can get right to snacking!

One of my favorite snacks when I want something decadent and filling are mozzarella sticks. I love having a couple with a generous serving of marinara sauce to dip them in.

The thing about making mozzarella cheese sticks at home, is that the packaging instructions generally call for baking or deep frying them. And although they taste good this way, they take a long time. The oven has to heat up and then they baked for a while. Plus, by the end, so often all of the cheese will have burst out!

Enter, the ninja foodi deluxe air fryer. The Ninja Foodi is the PERFECT way to cook mozzarella sticks. Not only do frozen cheese sticks take a mere 8 minutes to cook in the air fryer, you don't have to use any extra oil.

They come out crispy and golden brown every time. Plus, I find that the air frying does a good job of keeping the cheese from seeping out of the bread crumb coating.

Frozen Mozzarella sticks-- seriously that's it! Because frozen mozzarella sticks are already pre fried, there is no need to spray them with extra oil! This helps make them a LITTLE bit healthier.

How to cook frozen mozzarella sticks in air fryer

Place frozen mozzarella cheese sticks into the air fryer basket, making sure to leave enough space for them to cook evenly. My particular air fryer fits about 8-10 comfortably in the basket.

Set air fryer to 390 degrees F and 8 minutes cook time and shut the lid. After about 6 minutes of cooking, carefully flip the cheese sticks so that they fry evenly. Allow them to cook the remaining 2 minutes.

They may need an additional 1-2 minutes of cook time, depending on how crispy you like them, but make sure to check them at 8 minutes.

Open the lid when the cook time is up and allow fried mozzarella sticks to cool a few minutes before eating.

What dipping sauce to serve with mozzarella sticks

Mozzarella sticks can be enjoyed on their own, but they are even better dipped in marinara sauce. Use whatever your favorite marinara sauce is, ours is Rao's Homemade!

Reheating mozzarella sticks in the air fryer

Mozzarella sticks are best cooked from frozen since that allows the outside to get crispy before the cheese melts and get everywhere.

You can reheat mozzarella sticks in the air fryer for around 3 minutes, but they will not get as crispy as the first fry.
