Will it Ninja Creami? That's what goes through my head sometimes. And the answer is almost always yes. The Ninja Creami machine works seemingly like magic to take just about anything and turn it into ice cream. While it doesn't work the same as a traditional ice cream maker, the Ninja Creami works to quickly make whatever you can think of into a frozen treat.
Any fruit will work, but pineapple works especially well in the Ninja because it is super sweet as is, no added sugar needed.
My toddler absolutely devoured this. And I was happy to serve him "ice cream" at 10 am, knowing he was just eating frozen, blended fruit.
Ingredients
It's hard to even called this a pineapple sorbet recipe, because there's just one ingredient!
- Pineapple: I used canned pineapple in it's own juices here. No added sugar, water, or other liquid, apart from what came in the can itself.
You can use fresh pineapple cut into small chunks, or frozen pineapple. If you do, I would add a little bit of liquid to enhance the finished texture. You can add water, juice, or even heavy cream to create pineapple ice cream.
How to make ninja creami pineapple sorbet
Pour can of pineapple into Ninja Creami pint along with the included pineapple juice. If using the 20 oz. can, you will need to leave out 4 oz. so that it doesn't go over the max fill line.
Top with lid and place in the freezer, make sure it is level and below the max fill line. Freeze for 24 hours.
Remove pint from freezer and remove lid. Place into the outer bowl of the device. Secure outer lid and turn on the device. Select the "sorbet" function and allow to go through the spin cycle.
If the sorbet appears crumbly you can place back into the machine and select respin.
Recipe tips
- Look for canned pineapple without added syrup. The heavy syrup is full of sugar and is not necessary as the pineapple itself is sweet enough. It should come in water or in its own juices.
- Add cream or milk. You can use heavy cream, whole milk, or even coconut milk to create different variations of pineapple ice cream. Heavy cream will result in a creamier and richer texture.
Storage
To freeze any leftovers, just place pint lid back on container and place back in the freezer.
Recipe FAQs
Nope! The pineapple is soft and small enough right out the can. The Ninja Creami will do the work for you.
