Lightly toasted sourdough provides the perfect base for the ultimate Thanksgiving Leftover Sandwich. Add moist turkey, cheese, homemade sourdough stuffing, red leaf lettuce, and a generous slather of mayo and cranberry sauce and you will have something marvelous on your hands!
My Sandwich! MY SANDWICH? Who remembers that episode of Friends where Ross' coworker eats his Thanksgiving leftover sandwich?
Those who love Thanksgiving dinner know that one of the best parts is the leftovers the next day! And sandwiches are a great way to enjoy them. Call it a gobbler, call it a pilgrim sandwich, call it whatever you want just call it delicious!
Try this sandwich one of two ways— hot or cold. I like to just toast the bread and keep everything else cold. But you could definitely make the whole thing in a panini press and have it warm and melty!
Some people forgo veggies entirely on their leftover sandwich, or try to carefully nestle green beans or Brussels sprouts on it. Both our delicious, but I find a delicate lettuce works perfectly here. It cuts through the heavier flavors and stays on the sandwich more easily than cut veggies. I used red leaf lettuce and it was JUST the thing!
I hope you all had a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving!

Sarah
I didn't mix them but that's a great idea! Any bread would work, but we love sourdough.
