Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken Thighs

Slow Cooker BBQ chicken thighs are a simple dump and go weeknight dinner using bone in chicken and your favorite barbecue sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. bone in chicken thighs
  • 1 ½ cups of your favorite bbq sauce
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 tsp. chili powder

Instructions

  • Gently place your fingers underneath the skin of the chicken thigh and pull back to remove skin from the meat. Discard.
  • Place bone in chicken thighs in to the crock pot, sprinkle with spices, and pour 1 cup of bbq sauce over the top.
  • Set to high for 3 hours or low for 4-5 hours.
  • Remove from the crock pot and serve with remaining bbq sauce.
  • Optional: Place cooked chicken thighs on a baking sheet and broil for 3-4 minutes to crisp up the outside a bit so that they more closely resemble being cooked on a grill. Be careful because of the sugar content in bbq sauce, they can burn quickly.
